The Broken Bells

Le projet Broken Bells est le fruit de la rencontre du chanteur et guitariste James Mercer (The Shins) et du DJ Danger Mouse qui, après une rencontre au festival de Roskilde an Danemark en 2004, réalisent qu'ils apprécient le travail de l'un et de l'autre.

 

Ce n'est cependant qu'au cours de l'hiver 2008 qu'ils décident d'amorcer leur collaboration en prenant une tangente différente que dans leurs projets respectifs.

 

Ainsi, Danger Mouse évite d'utiliser des échantillons pour ne jouer que des instruments alors que Mercer pousse sa voix encore plus loin. Après avoir tenu leur collaboration secrète pendant plus d'un an, ils sortent de l'ombre au cours de l'automne 2009 avec le single The High Road, qui précède un album éponyme qui paraît au début de 2010.
